Catching Up, News, New Releases & More

Between a Hubby with bronchitis, 3 tiny boys with a stomach virus, battling a week-long migraine, and trying to help my Mom a little, I haven’t had a great deal of time left over for writing. Which meant blogging was one of the first cuts I made. Hopefully, at least some of that is resolved now, because I’m sooo over cleaning up buckets of vomit. B} Who The Hell Won? It’s LIVE! At Last, TIGHT SPACES Is Out!

I confess, I’m a horrible procrastinator. If I have a deadline, I’ll do most of a job ahead, and save the last bit to do as the clock is ticking off the deadline. This project was no different. TIGHT SPACES has been finished for a couple of weeks, and the release date decided. But did I upload it early? Nope! Waited until 36 hrs before the intended release. And, even though it was finished, I still added part of a scene Thursday evening, right before uploading. I’d hoped it would go live this morning, but it didn’t until mid-afternoon. But, it’s available now!! Buy TIGHT SPACES A lonely woman goes dancing with friends to kick the Bad Breakup Anniversary Blues. Her fantasy-man is willing to help, until her lowlife ex ambushes him. With the first anniversary of the messy break up of a long-term relationship bearing down, Amy has the … Continue reading

Kenra Daniels’ #SixSunday Final Scene

This week’s Six is from Tight Spaces, my Erotic Contemporary Romance Novella, Book One in my new series, The Double Dare Club. I’m finally closing in on The End for this one! I only have the final scene left to write and edit, so just a couple hours work, and I can type “The End”. In this snippet, Amy and Jesse have left a nasty confrontation with Amy’s Ex that nearly tanked their lovely evening. With the rest of the night salvaged, Jesse wants revenge, so he   searches out a member of the Double Dare Club Security. “Sounds like the guy. Listen, Ray, he’s been hassling my friend here. Said some stuff that made her feel really bad. Is there any way you could make sure she doesn’t have to deal with him anymore tonight? Until we leave here, at least.” Jesse slipped the bouncer a bill, concealing the … Continue reading

Love Scenes & Wet Dreams & Other Things

Recently, my friends and critique partners, Azure Boone and Jennifer James, and I decided to to start a group blog. The general idea was for it to be a place where we could jointly promote our work, talk about things important to us, things we find funny, and just generally be a little silly. And so, the idea for Love Scenes & Wet Dreams, a.k.a. LSWD, was born. We have several ideas for the blog, some of which will take a while to implement. For now, we’ll all incredibly busy, between writing and raising our families, and we don’t have as much time to devote to it as we’d like. So, we’re concentrating on the basics, getting everything situated the way we’d like and building content. When we have time to catch our breath, we’ll switch up the focus to getting some different things going. Right now, Azure has up a … Continue reading

Brats, B!tches, and Barbies

*First, I’d like to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and positive energy as my family dealt with the loss of Reno, my much-loved step-dad. With your help, we made it through and managed to celebrate his life and rejoice that he doesn’t have to suffer any longer. The funeral was one of the largest our little town had ever seen, and there were 20+ classic cars in the procession. The only blemish on the day was my step-brother’s ex-wife. In her blatant gold digging, she cozied right up to SB, despite having called Reno everything but a milk-cow only a few weeks ago. Everyone knew she was only being nice to SB in order to get “her share” of his inheritance. Everyone except SB, that is. Oh, well. There are a few surprises coming her way, and she won’t be a happy camper when it’s all said and done.* … Continue reading

ReBlog of Masquerade Crew Featured Follower

The blogging network I belong to has introduced a new feature call Reblogging. Basically, I can produce an exact copy of another member’s blog post, including author attribution and comments. I’ve decided to put Reblog to the test! Here is The Masquerade Crew’s post with me as their Featured Follower. #Follow @kenra_daniels: Paranormal Romance writer working toward getting published. (via The Masquerade Crew) Featured Follower: Kenra Daniels In her own words: I write steamy Paranormal Romance featuring weredragons and daywalking vampires. I blog about a variety of topics, mostly related to writing/books/authors. I’m not published yet, but I work toward it daily, and am very optimistic that one or more of… Bookmark on Delicious Digg this post Recommend on Facebook share via Reddit Share with Stumblers Tweet about it Subscribe to the comments on this post

Don’t Let the Door Hit You On the Ass

That’s what we say here when we’re beyond ready for guests to leave. Of course, not many say it to the guests’ faces. Every year or two, I hear of people within the publishing industry who say Paranormal Romance is on the decline, or on the way out. Sometimes, the tone accompanying the pronouncement seems to say “… And don’t the let door hit you on the ass on the way out.” In certain circles, Paranormal Romance is considered less desirable reading than the back of the cereal box, and that’s usually where the above-mentioned tone comes from. But occasionally, I get that impression from some within the Romance family, as well. As an avid PNR reader for 20+ years, I’ve sometimes observed a corresponding slump in the number of new Paranormal Romances being released. The first few times I heard the prediction and saw fewer new releases at the … Continue reading

Crawling From Under The Rock…

Uh… Hi? Remember me? Yeah, I’m that Kenra Daniels. While I’ve been under my rock, the world has continued to turn. Shocking, I know, but true. I’ve come out for a breath of fresh air, and to share some news with you. You might remember I’ve spoken of my fantastic Critique Partner, and Bestie, Azure Boone? Weelllll…. I’m telling you, guys, you really MUST read this book!! Azure is a phenomenal writer, and the story is fascinating. A Progress Report, Of Sorts…

First, I have to apologize. I haven’t posted here in far too long… For several reasons. Between power outages and internet service interruptions, one of the grandsons ill and whiny, and a bunch of other personal crap, I’ve barely had time to sit, let alone write or blog. And this evening I received word that my step-dad, Reno, is in the hospital with a bowel obstruction. His doctor thinks it’s rather minor and will be dealt with quite easily. The only concern is that he has  several other serious health issues. Hopefully none of those will interfere, or be made worse by the current problem. With all that going on, I *still* haven’t managed to complete revisions for Blood Dragon so it can get on its way. Right now, after family, that has to be my top priority. So, until it’s done, this blog will go dark, along with my social … Continue reading

Sorta Spotlight, First Five, Plus Some Temporary Changes

In Lieu of this week’s Spotlight: First a few notes: These days, it seems the more I accomplish, the further behind I get! In an effort to buckle down and get the priorities taken care of. Thanks to #writemotivation, I’ve had to plan how best to meet my goals, and that’s what this is.  Right now, getting Blood Dragon out on submission is my highest priority professionally. I need to hit it hard until it’s perfect, and get it out there. To that end, some of my posts here will be recycled content from months ago. I posted these back when my blog went several days at a time with no visits, so they should be fresh to you. I’ll still be posting new content as well, just not as much. In April, I’ll be celebrating my first Blogaversary! Gonna try to do something special to celebrate, but I haven’t decided … Continue reading
