A Swift Kick In The Pants II: Get Your Ass In Gear #writemotivation

A couple of weeks ago, I signed up for KT Hanna’s #writemotivation. Since then I’ve been doing a few things to make achieving my goals possible. I confess I haven’t been good at the obligations for #writemotivation. Today, I’ll follow all the participants on ‘Twitter, and visit and follow their blogs, to make cheering them on simpler. I should have done that days ago. Now, on to the goals part. As you might recall, I’m going to work on: Put the finishing touches on the Blood Dragon revisions Get Blood Dragon on submission with at least 5 epublishers Write 40k words of new material on Blood Dragon II Get back on schedule for posting here For the past week, things have been crazy here, with 3 little boys in various stages of a stomach virus. Makeover Update and Early #writemotivation

First, the Makeover Update: Roughly 3 weeks ago, I began a major makeover  of my blog. I moved from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress site. My first post about the process covered choosing a hosting service and actually moving everything. Since then, I’ve tried out several free themes, searching for one with the capabilities I wanted: a custom header, custom background (though I could live without this one), sidebars and widget areas, dark color scheme, and multiple pages were the big ones. I found that many free themes don’t support custom headers – at least the ones I found. One I tried limited the header to half the width of the page, others put the site title and description across the header in a way that was difficult to read for mine.
