It’s been a HORRIBLY long time since I’ve blogged! Apologies, for more than one reason, are in order. First, I missed the posts for the last week of my Tight Spaces Kick Off Blog Tour, including the finale to announce the winners of the giveaway! I have good reasons, I promise. It’s LIVE! At Last, TIGHT SPACES Is Out!

I confess, I’m a horrible procrastinator. If I have a deadline, I’ll do most of a job ahead, and save the last bit to do as the clock is ticking off the deadline. This project was no different. TIGHT SPACES has been finished for a couple of weeks, and the release date decided. But did I upload it early? Nope! Waited until 36 hrs before the intended release. And, even though it was finished, I still added part of a scene Thursday evening, right before uploading. I’d hoped it would go live this morning, but it didn’t until mid-afternoon. *First, I’d like to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and positive energy as my family dealt with the loss of Reno, my much-loved step-dad. With your help, we made it through and managed to celebrate his life and rejoice that he doesn’t have to suffer any longer. The funeral was one of the largest our little town had ever seen, and there were 20+ classic cars in the procession. The only blemish on the day was my step-brother’s ex-wife. In her blatant gold digging, she cozied right up to SB, despite having called Reno everything but a milk-cow only a few weeks ago. Everyone knew she was only being nice to SB in order to get “her share” of his inheritance. Everyone except SB, that is. Oh, well. Uh… Hi? Remember me? Yeah, I’m that Kenra Daniels. While I’ve been under my rock, the world has continued to turn. Shocking, I know, but true. I’ve come out for a breath of fresh air, and to share some news with you. You might remember I’ve spoken of my fantastic Critique Partner, and Bestie, Azure Boone? Weelllll…. Her book, Devil Wants A China Doll,  has just been contracted for publication by Loose Id Publishing!!!! They’re shooting for an August 2012 release date. I’m telling you, guys, you really MUST read this book!! Azure is a phenomenal writer, and the story is fascinating. The Hero, Roan Kreed, is deliciously hot, and troubled, and a little bit bad… All ingredients for the kind of Romance Novel Hero you’d love to… yeah. A Progress Report, Of Sorts…

First, I have to apologize. I haven’t posted here in far too long… For several reasons. Between power outages and internet service interruptions, one of the grandsons ill and whiny, and a bunch of other personal crap, I’ve barely had time to sit, let alone write or blog. And this evening I received word that my step-dad, Reno, is in the hospital with a bowel obstruction. His doctor thinks it’s rather minor and will be dealt with quite easily. The only concern is that he has  several other serious health issues. Hopefully none of those will interfere, or be made worse by the current problem. With all that going on, I *still* haven’t managed to complete revisions for Blood Dragon so it can get on its way. Right now, after family, that has to be my top priority. A Swift Kick In The Pants II: Get Your Ass In Gear #writemotivation

A couple of weeks ago, I signed up for KT Hanna’s #writemotivation. Since then I’ve been doing a few things to make achieving my goals possible. I confess I haven’t been good at the obligations for #writemotivation. Today, I’ll follow all the participants on ‘Twitter, and visit and follow their blogs, to make cheering them on simpler. I should have done that days ago. Now, on to the goals part. As you might recall, I’m going to work on: Put the finishing touches on the Blood Dragon revisions Get Blood Dragon on submission with at least 5 epublishers Write 40k words of new material on Blood Dragon II Get back on schedule for posting here For the past week, things have been crazy here, with 3 little boys in various stages of a stomach virus. In Lieu of this week’s Spotlight: First a few notes: These days, it seems the more I accomplish, the further behind I get! In an effort to buckle down and get the priorities taken care of. Thanks to #writemotivation, I’ve had to plan how best to meet my goals, and that’s what this is.  Right now, getting Blood Dragon out on submission is my highest priority professionally. I need to hit it hard until it’s perfect, and get it out there. To that end, some of my posts here will be recycled content from months ago. I posted these back when my blog went several days at a time with no visits, so they should be fresh to you. I’ll still be posting new content as well, just not as much. I’m thrilled to have multi-pubbed Paranormal Romance author Skhye Moncrief here for a guest post! She and I have become online buds, with similar health issues and a love of documentaries in common. So, today I signed up for #writemotivation March 2012 Goal Check. This is KT Hanna’s baby. The idea is to form a group of writers to help encourage and motivate each other, even on those days when our Inner Critic is a bitch. For March, each writer is asked to set attainable goals to work toward for the month. On Mondays, participants will blog about their progress, and visit each other’s blogs to encourage and motivate each other. All through the month, we’ll use the #writemotivation hashtag on Twitter to give each other that extra little push. I signed up because, right now, I need an extra kick in the pants to keep moving forward. Most of the time, I’m pretty productive, and keep things moving at a good pace.
