Kenra Daniels’ #SixSunday – Yet Another Title?

This week’s Six Sunday is from the same Erotic Romance Novella the last couple have been from. Now, last week, the plan was that this story’s title would be “Dare To Stare”. Since then, during edits, the focus of the story has changed, and the entire concept evolved. This story has become the foundation of a series of contemporary Erotic Romances. The series, titled The Double Dare Club, is based on the nightclub introduced in this story, the Double Dare. For the series, all the couples will be connected in some way to the Double Dare – one might work there, they might meet there, or meet in a fender-bender in the street out front. Because of the change in focus for the current story, “Dare To Stare” no longer fits as the title. The new title, referring to the smex-in-the-closet scene, and other incidents, is Tight Spaces. Kenra Daniels’ #SundaySix Has A Title!

Last week I posted Six Sentences from my Work In Progress, an untitled erotic contemporary romance, and asked if anyone had ideas for a title. A couple of you had wonderful suggestions. Well, now it has a title, thanks to my friend and critique partner, Azure Boone. Having the advantage of reading a major scene, she suggested “Dare To Stare”, because of the scene where the hero catches the heroine staring at him. Instead of looking away, she continues to stare, bold as brass. So, Dare To Stare it is. Amy followed her gaze and recognized Jessie’s powerful body nearing the table. Once more, his stride reminded her of a big cat stalking prey. A little shiver danced across her skin with the realization that she was the prey. Recently, my friends and critique partners, Azure Boone and Jennifer James, and I decided to to start a group blog. The general idea was for it to be a place where we could jointly promote our work, talk about things important to us, things we find funny, and just generally be a little silly. And so, the idea for Love Scenes & Wet Dreams, a.k.a. LSWD, was born. We have several ideas for the blog, some of which will take a while to implement. For now, we’ll all incredibly busy, between writing and raising our families, and we don’t have as much time to devote to it as we’d like. So, we’re concentrating on the basics, getting everything situated the way we’d like and building content. *First, I’d like to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and positive energy as my family dealt with the loss of Reno, my much-loved step-dad. With your help, we made it through and managed to celebrate his life and rejoice that he doesn’t have to suffer any longer. The funeral was one of the largest our little town had ever seen, and there were 20+ classic cars in the procession. The only blemish on the day was my step-brother’s ex-wife. In her blatant gold digging, she cozied right up to SB, despite having called Reno everything but a milk-cow only a few weeks ago. Everyone knew she was only being nice to SB in order to get “her share” of his inheritance. Everyone except SB, that is. Oh, well. Uh… Hi? Remember me? Yeah, I’m that Kenra Daniels. While I’ve been under my rock, the world has continued to turn. Shocking, I know, but true. I’ve come out for a breath of fresh air, and to share some news with you. You might remember I’ve spoken of my fantastic Critique Partner, and Bestie, Azure Boone? Weelllll…. Her book, Devil Wants A China Doll,  has just been contracted for publication by Loose Id Publishing!!!! They’re shooting for an August 2012 release date. I’m telling you, guys, you really MUST read this book!! Azure is a phenomenal writer, and the story is fascinating. A Progress Report, Of Sorts…

First, I have to apologize. I haven’t posted here in far too long… For several reasons. Between power outages and internet service interruptions, one of the grandsons ill and whiny, and a bunch of other personal crap, I’ve barely had time to sit, let alone write or blog. And this evening I received word that my step-dad, Reno, is in the hospital with a bowel obstruction. His doctor thinks it’s rather minor and will be dealt with quite easily. The only concern is that he has  several other serious health issues. Hopefully none of those will interfere, or be made worse by the current problem. With all that going on, I *still* haven’t managed to complete revisions for Blood Dragon so it can get on its way. Right now, after family, that has to be my top priority. In Lieu of this week’s Spotlight: First a few notes: These days, it seems the more I accomplish, the further behind I get! In an effort to buckle down and get the priorities taken care of. Thanks to #writemotivation, I’ve had to plan how best to meet my goals, and that’s what this is.  Right now, getting Blood Dragon out on submission is my highest priority professionally. I need to hit it hard until it’s perfect, and get it out there. To that end, some of my posts here will be recycled content from months ago. I posted these back when my blog went several days at a time with no visits, so they should be fresh to you. I’ll still be posting new content as well, just not as much. A Swift Kick In The Pants #writemotivation

So, today I signed up for #writemotivation March 2012 Goal Check. This is KT Hanna’s baby. The idea is to form a group of writers to help encourage and motivate each other, even on those days when our Inner Critic is a bitch. For March, each writer is asked to set attainable goals to work toward for the month. On Mondays, participants will blog about their progress, and visit each other’s blogs to encourage and motivate each other. All through the month, we’ll use the #writemotivation hashtag on Twitter to give each other that extra little push. I signed up because, right now, I need an extra kick in the pants to keep moving forward. Most of the time, I’m pretty productive, and keep things moving at a good pace. Beginning the Makeover!!

I’ve mentioned a few times before that I had a major revamp of my blog planned. I’m pleased to announce that the process has started! I’ve transferred it from WordPress.com to a self-hosted site – hence the generic background, etc. Some things will be returning to the original, but over the next few weeks, there will be many changes. I’ll keep you updated with my progress as I go along. A few details: For those non-techy folks among you who might be intimidated by doing the same, I’ve decided to provide a few details. I consider myself barely technologically literate – I can use my simple little cell phone, though not to capacity; I can set the DVR to record something in advance; I can use most soft-ware as long as it is straight forward and has decent help files just in case.
