Makeover Update and Early #writemotivation

First, the Makeover Update: Roughly 3 weeks ago, I began a major makeover  of my blog. I moved from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress site. My first post about the process covered choosing a hosting service and actually moving everything. Since then, I’ve tried out several free themes, searching for one with the capabilities I wanted: a custom header, custom background (though I could live without this one), sidebars and widget areas, dark color scheme, and multiple pages were the big ones. I found that many free themes don’t support custom headers – at least the ones I found. One I tried limited the header to half the width of the page, others put the site title and description across the header in a way that was difficult to read for mine. A Swift Kick In The Pants #writemotivation

So, today I signed up for #writemotivation March 2012 Goal Check. This is KT Hanna’s baby. The idea is to form a group of writers to help encourage and motivate each other, even on those days when our Inner Critic is a bitch. For March, each writer is asked to set attainable goals to work toward for the month. On Mondays, participants will blog about their progress, and visit each other’s blogs to encourage and motivate each other. All through the month, we’ll use the #writemotivation hashtag on Twitter to give each other that extra little push.
