Santa Left Something for You Here

Well, not really HERE here, but close enough. Azure Boone (best friend, co-author, critique partner) and I recently released our first joint project, Archangels Creed 1: Kassern. As part of our promotion for  ”Kassern” we decided to make it FREE for Christmas! The promotion will run Dec 24, 25, and 26. Get your copy HERE! Then we figured, what the hell, let’s make it a REAL gift! We put ALL* our books FREE for the same period! While you’re busy reading, Azure and I will be busy too. Azure is recovering from the birth of Baby #9! As usual, I’m riding herd on the 3 grandsons – they’re good kids, but they’re so close in age they can be difficult to handle. And while we’re meeting the demands of very active families, we’re also writing in every spare second, and every not-so-spare second. Archangels Creed 2: Dorn is well under … Continue reading

Not The White Rabbit, But “I’m Late! I’m Late!”

I intended to reveal the cover that won the vote, and announce the expected release date for Tight Spaces on Saturday. As you know by now, that didn’t happen. Unfortunately, Hubby made plans without telling me, and dragged me along last minute. I took my laptop, but without internet access, didn’t accomplish a great deal. Hell, I even missed posting my Six Sentence Sunday! So, here I go, playing catch up! The cover vote was incredibly close! With 80 votes, Red squeaked by to win with 42 votes to Blue’s 38. Expected Release Date for Tight Spaces: Double Dare Club #1 – Saturday, September 15, 2012! ~~~~~~ The limited time over the weekend that I did have internet access, I used to arrange the Tight Spaces Kick Off Blog Tour to run September 17 thru October 12, 2012. As soon as I have the finalized itinerary, I’ll announce it here. The … Continue reading

TIGHT SPACES Needs YOU! Vote on the cover!

9/5 ETA: Hi everyone! Thanks sooo much for taking the time to vote. I really appreciate the help! Right now, Red and Blue are running neck and neck, with 34 and 32 votes respectively. Share and send others over to vote for your favorite! Thanks, Kenra   Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared little snippets from TIGHT SPACES in my Six Sentence Sunday posts, and kept you updated on my progress with it. Now, it’s very close to release, and I need a little help. My cover artist, Timothy White, (Stay tuned for more information on him as he launches his cover design service.) did a wonderful job of taking my ideas and transforming them into a cover image. The only problem is, he offered TWO options of the same image. I absolutely love them both, and every time I think I’ve finally settled on which one to use, … Continue reading

Kenra Daniels’ #SixSunday Needs You!

Last week I announced that TIGHT SPACES was finished. That ended up changing as I edited the final scene and wasn’t satisfied with it, but it didn’t take long to rewrite the scene so that it fit the story better. So, it is, indeed, finished. All but one thing. TIGHT SPACES NEEDS YOU! There’s only one problem left. My cover artist, Timothy White (keep watching here for more on him) gave me two versions of the cover to choose from. I LOVE them BOTH! Every time I think I’ve decided definitely which one to use, I end up changing my mind. So,  with time running out, I need help deciding. That’s where YOU come in. Tomorrow, Sept 3, I’ll reveal both versions of the cover. I need YOU to tell me which version you like best, and help me decide which to use! I’ll announce the decision on Friday,  Sept … Continue reading

Kenra Daniels’ #SixSunday Final Scene

This week’s Six is from Tight Spaces, my Erotic Contemporary Romance Novella, Book One in my new series, The Double Dare Club. I’m finally closing in on The End for this one! I only have the final scene left to write and edit, so just a couple hours work, and I can type “The End”. In this snippet, Amy and Jesse have left a nasty confrontation with Amy’s Ex that nearly tanked their lovely evening. With the rest of the night salvaged, Jesse wants revenge, so he   searches out a member of the Double Dare Club Security. “Sounds like the guy. Listen, Ray, he’s been hassling my friend here. Said some stuff that made her feel really bad. Is there any way you could make sure she doesn’t have to deal with him anymore tonight? Until we leave here, at least.” Jesse slipped the bouncer a bill, concealing the … Continue reading

Kenra Daniels’ #SundaySix Has A Title!

Last week I posted Six Sentences from my Work In Progress, an untitled erotic contemporary romance, and asked if anyone had ideas for a title. A couple of you had wonderful suggestions. Well, now it has a title, thanks to my friend and critique partner, Azure Boone. Having the advantage of reading a major scene, she suggested “Dare To Stare”, because of the scene where the hero catches the heroine staring at him. Instead of looking away, she continues to stare, bold as brass. So, Dare To Stare it is. Amy followed her gaze and recognized Jessie’s powerful body nearing the table. Once more, his stride reminded her of a big cat stalking prey. A little shiver danced across her skin with the realization that she was the prey. The tip of her tongue slid across her lower lip, anticipating his taste. Jessie paused, his hot gaze melting her. Her anger faded … Continue reading

Judging A Book By Its Cover with Malia Mallory

Today we have Erotic Romance Author Malia Mallory to talk about the value of a book’s cover. These days, the cover is more important than ever, since it has to catch the reader’s eye all by itself – no cute store displays, no table in the center aisle, no big shelf stocked with a hundred copies. Just that lonely little cover there in the virtual bookstore, along with all the others. Now, here’s Malia: Enticing Erotica Covers I recently decided some of my covers needed an upgrade. I’d been looking around at the fabulous covers of my author friends and feeling jealous. In fact, I was becoming concerned it might even be hurting my sales. I needed to step it up. So, what to do? I contacted a cover artist who had done some work I admired. She did a new design concept for my ABCs of Erotica series. I … Continue reading

In The Spotlight – Author DC McMillen

Hey everyone, I know the blog has been dark for a couple of weeks, but good news – things are starting to come together, so hopefully next week will see me back on some sort of schedule! Anyway, please join me in welcoming author DC McMillen to the blog! She’s generously stopped by today to tell us about her new book, The Rusty Nail. D.C. McMillen is an up and coming author living in Toronto, Canada. She enjoys writing about dirty sex in questionable places but has been known to write about other subjects, on special occasions. She has recently published her debut novella, The Rusty Nail, through Rebel Ink Press. She has also been published in several anthologies and will be part of MuseItHot’s Short & Spicy spring line up. D.C. is obsessed with Twitter and invites you to look her up at @mcmillendc, on her blog or on Facebook. The Rusty Nail … Continue reading

The New Censor On The Block

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a powerful new censor in town, and they don’t like erotica. They have the teeth to make their edicts stick, even with big book retailers, and they’re doing it. Who cares if they don’t like erotica, you ask? Well, you should. No matter what you read, write, or buy, this news should have you terrified. Because, if, in the United States of America, there is someone powerful enough to decide something should NOT be available to the public, and has the juice to enforce that decision, what’s next? Gasoline? Medications? If you haven’t already heard this news, then you’re probably wishing I’d just hurry the hell up and tell you who has that kind of pull. Okay. Here it is. Paypal. As the largest digital payment processing company, they’ve threatened to stop providing services to various online book retailers unless they stop selling … Continue reading
