I’ve been away from Six Sentence Sunday for a while, but it’s time I get back to it. This Six is from a contemporary erotic romance novella I’m working on. The thing really needs a title, and fast, so if you have any suggestions, leave a comment! She’d never felt that way before, and refused to examine it, for fear of breaking the spell. Sex with Jessie was a whole new experience, too, especially the sense of contentment that followed. Normally, she would be restless, vaguely uncomfortable, needing something to do. Leaning there against Jessie’s chest, with his breath stirring her hair and his fingers absently stroking her shoulder while his voice slid around her in an almost tactile way felt indescribably right.
What would it be like to spend forever in the arms of a man like that? Some women would no doubt find it stifling, but, to Amy, it seemed about as near Heaven as she could be on Earth.
What’s it about?
On the one year anniversary of a bad break-up, Amy’s friends cajole her into going out. At the nightclub, she runs into Jessie, a friend of a friend, whom she’s lusted after quietly since before her long-term relationship ended. They dance and talk the evening away, discovering irresistible mutual attraction. As they leave the club, Amy’s ex accosts them and blows are exchanged. Will that be the end for Amy and Jessie, or just the beginning?
This novella will be finished soon, and I’m considering self publishing it, to release in mid-August. Titles drive me nuts, and this one more so than others. Because of a scene that takes place in a storage closet at the club, a logical title might contain the word “closet”. Since it’s heterosexual erotic romance, calling it “Closet” anything might raise false expectations in readers.
So, ideas, anyone?
Nice six! How about something like “Near Heaven”? Of course, I really only have these six to go by. Or if you have a theme you wish to carry through the novella, maybe there’s a poignant image or something. All the best! L

Is the closet a big part of the book, part of the theme?
Hi Adeline, and thanks – I like that one, too! Now the problem will be choosing, LOL.
Most of the story takes place in a night club as the characters meet and become reacquainted. The first full sex scene takes place in a storage closet, LOL. It will likely be the longest, as well, at just over 13 pages, so it plays a pretty important part.
