Hi Dave! If you go to your Linky Dashboard, at the top of the “Blogs you follow” tab, you can “Click to manage your Categories” – there you can create custom categories. That feature’s going to be really useful for me, since I follow everything from erotica blogs to little kid activity blogs.

Thanks, Kayelle! It is sad news, and as great as Linky is, former GFC users will still lose their GFC followers and have to start building from scratch.

Of course, we wouldn’t want Google to share personal info like email addresses with anyone else, and we do want people to choose if they’re going to be a part of the alternative – but it still sucks for those bloggers who will lose hundreds or even thousands of followers when GFC goes dark.

I’ve seen several posts about Linky in the Triberr stream – our buds are all over this, LOL.

I agree, people need a way to follow regardless of platform. Email and RSS following are wonderful, but when it comes to publicly showing support for a blog, they’re useless. And we all know that public support, or social proof, can have huge effect on a blog’s success.

Only wish Linky had a “writing” category. I’ll have to use “general” until they do. Most romance/erotica writers have a blogger account. G+ is still too small to replace blogger networks.
